Join us as we celebrate Learning Disability Awareness Week and recognise the achievements, talents and contributions of the people we support at Ferring Country Centre.
Throughout the week, we will be sharing content that highlights the opportunities available through our Day Service and the positive impact they have on the lives of our members. From developing practical skills and building confidence to forming friendships and taking part in meaningful activities, our Day Service is designed to support people with learning disabilities to learn, grow and thrive.
As part of the week, we will be showcasing our Sponsor a Day campaign, helping our community understand the resources and costs involved in delivering the activities, support and experiences that our members enjoy. We will also be sharing a special video offering an insight into the different areas of our Day Service, including the wide range of activities and choices available, as well as social opportunities such as movie nights, discos and community events.
Learning Disability Awareness Week is an opportunity to challenge misconceptions, promote inclusion and celebrate the value that people with learning disabilities bring to our communities. We are proud to support individuals in achieving their goals, developing independence and enjoying fulfilling experiences, and we invite you to join us in celebrating their achievements.
Wear Purple Day
On Friday 19th June, we will be taking part in Wear Purple Day to raise awareness of learning disabilities and promote inclusion within our community.
We encourage our Day Service Customers, visitors, supporters, staff, volunteers, and local businesses to join us by wearing something purple and sharing their photos on social media. Whether it’s a purple t-shirt, jumper, ribbon, or accessory, every splash of purple helps start conversations and show support for people with learning disabilities.
Support Our Work
Throughout Learning Disability Week, we will also be promoting our Sponsor a Day of Learning campaign.
Your support helps us provide meaningful opportunities for people with learning disabilities to learn new skills, build confidence, gain independence, and take part in activities that enrich their lives. From caring for animals and serving customers in our café to gardening, retail, and equine care, every day brings new opportunities for learning and personal growth.
By supporting Ferring Country Centre, you are helping us continue to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where people can thrive and reach their full potential.
Thank you for supporting Ferring Country Centre and helping us celebrate Learning Disability Week.
Your visit helps us change lives
What makes Ferring Country Centre truly special is the difference you make by visiting us. Every purchase, booking, or donation directly supports our work with people who have learning disabilities.
Here’s how:
Your visit helps us change lives (Donate)
If you are a UK taxpayer your donation could be worth 25% more at no extra cost to you.
I am a UK taxpayer and would like to Gift Aid my donations now and in future. I understand I must pay enough income tax and/or capital gains tax each tax year to cover the amount of Gift Aid that all charities and community amateur sports clubs claim on my donations in that tax year, and I am responsible for paying any difference. Please remember to let us know if your tax status, name or address change or if you wish to cancel your Gift Aid declaration.
There are many ways to support our mission – make a donation, organise a fundraising event, volunteer with us, play our lottery, adopt an animal, or become a member or leave a legacy in your will.
