Horse riding lessons
Experience the joy of horse riding lessons at Ferring Country Centre. We offer general horse riding lessons for the public, welcoming adults and children aged four and upwards. We also provide therapeutic riding sessions specifically designed for those with physical and/or learning disabilities. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, our highly qualified instructors are here to guide you.
Our lessons run throughout the week, except on Wednesdays when our horses enjoy a well-deserved rest. As a British Horse Society (BHS) approved and council licensed centre, we prioritise the care of our animals, ensuring a safe and professional environment for all. Our lessons are popular, and while we may have a waiting list, the experience is worth it.
By joining our horse riding lessons, you’re not only connecting with these magnificent animals but also supporting our mission to provide life-changing experiences for people with learning disabilities.

Horse riding therapy
Our horse riding therapy sessions offer people with learning and physical disabilities a unique and enriching experience.
We specialise in therapeutic riding sessions for all abilities, and our experienced instructors ensure a positive and enjoyable experience. Through horse riding, participants improve motor skills, strength, and balance, and boost confidence, co-ordination, self-esteem, and fitness, while developing social skills and meaningful connections with the animals.
Fees from our sessions contribute to the vital work we do, providing life-changing experiences for people with learning disabilities, many of whom help care for our horses in the stables.
Please note that due to the popularity of our horse riding therapy sessions, there may be a waiting list of up to six months.
