Please look carefully at the time and date when you are booking, as all tickets are nonrefundable or transferable.
A wonderful, exclusive experience helping one of our animal welfare team care for a Shetland Pony. Suitable for an animal lover, Shetland Pony fan or anyone who wants a memorable experience to treasure forever.
To ensure the event is calm and enjoyable for the pony, one adult and one child is included in the price (this includes farm entry for the day.)
Additional family members will be required to pay farm entry (£7.50) if they want to watch and enjoy the farm, payable on arrival.
The Shetland Experience session can allow one additional sibling to participate for £15 (payable on arrival)
What’s included? You will help to collect a Shetland pony from the field and lead it back to the barn. There you will be shown how to brush its mane, groom its body and clean the pony’s feet. You will then help to prepare the horse feed and deliver it to the pony. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and take for photographs, to create a lasting memory.
Minimum age 4
Maximum age: none! A lovely activity for an adult!
Shetland Pony Experience is for anyone over the age of 4 but if purchased for a child, they must be accompanied by one adult. Any additional family members are welcome to watch for £7.50 (which will be payable on arrival and includes farm entry).
Please note:
The pony’s welfare is our top priority. Animals and the weather can be unpredictable. For example, If the pony you are caring for becomes stressed you might be asked to swap to a different pony. Dreadful weather might mean the ponies are already inside and not in the fields. You will still be given the experience unless we feel you won’t be offered the full benefit, in which case the session might be postponed to a different day.
Please wear wellies/walking boots and a coat suitable for the weather, as it is an outdoor activity.
Be aware, Shetland ponies have lots of character and can potentially kick, step on your feet or bump into you! Please listen carefully to instructions that are given and make sure any children adhere to them. Your children and their behaviour, are your responsibility during this activity.
This is not a horse riding activity, just a lovely chance to get close to one of our Shetland ponies and spend time with them!
The session will last approximately 40 mins.
