Adult Keeper for the Day
Step behind the scenes at Ferring Country Centre and experience a morning in the life of our farm team.
Our Adult Keeper for the Day experience offers a unique opportunity to get hands-on with daily farm life, working alongside our staff to care for our animals and land. From preparing feed and feeding the animals, to bringing in our ponies from the field, grooming them and cleaning their feet, and helping maintain enclosures—this is a truly immersive and rewarding experience.

Junior Keeper for the Day
Give young animal lovers the chance to step into the boots of a real farm keeper this summer.
Our Junior Keeper Experience offers a hands-on, behind-the-scenes morning caring for our animals alongside the Ferring Country Centre team. From feeding and grooming to helping with daily cleaning and care, participants will get a real taste of life on the farm in a safe and supportive environment.

Alpaca Keeper Experience
Step behind the scenes and spend time with our friendly alpacas alongside a member of our animal team.
You’ll help prepare feeds, tidy the enclosure and hand-feed the alpacas their favourite treats while learning about their personalities and daily care. A relaxed, hands-on session for animal lovers.

Pig Keeper Experience
Enjoy a 1:1 experience living the life of a pig keeper!
You’ll help our farm staff prepare feeds, clean the enclosure, make enrichment toys, and groom the pigs while learning fascinating facts about each of our Kune Kunes.
Available Monday to Friday, 11:30am, this hands‑on experience lasts approximately one hour and is suitable for ages 8+. Includes farm entry.

Pig Interaction Experience
Get up close with our gorgeous pigs for some grooming and snuggles with a member of our farm team.
The session lasts for 20 minutes and includes grooming and interacting with the pigs inside their enclosure, with a member of our animal welfare team.
Available everyday at 11:30am. Suitable for anyone aged 8 and older. Includes Dales Farm Entry.

Meet our cheeky goats for a fun and gentle one-to-one interaction inside their enclosure.

Exclusive Shetland Pony Experience
Spend special one-to-one time with one of our adorable Shetland ponies alongside a member of our animal welfare team.
You’ll help bring the pony in from the field, groom and feed them in the barn, and learn all about their care and personality. A calm, hands-on experience with plenty of photo opportunities and memories to treasure.
Suitable for ages 4+. From £55 for one adult and one child, including farm entry.

Pony Ride Experience
A lovely first pony ride for younger visitors.
Children will meet one of our gentle ponies before enjoying a short, supervised ride in our riding area with a member of our animal team. A simple and memorable farm treat.

Pony Grooming and Interaction Session
A calm and friendly session for children aged 4+ and guests with SEND to spend close-up time with one of our gentle ponies.
During this hands-on experience you will have the opportunity to groom the pony, brush its coat and mane, and enjoy relaxed interaction while learning about their care and personality. This is a quiet confidence-building activity and no riding takes place.
To help keep the session calm for the ponies, only one accompanying carer per child is permitted where necessary.
Tickets are £8.50 per participant and include farm entry.
